Once the giveaway has ended and the winners have received their prize, it is now time for you to analyze the data results from the giveaway. Often, after a contest, you will realize that your community has grown! However, it is always important for you to do whatever you can to retain these new members. Here are a few tips on how best to do so:
1. Be yourself
If you followed our previous advice, you will have organized your giveaway in respect to your editorial line: the prizes being chosen according to your personality, your brand and with the content you are used to write. So why change a winning recipe? You attracted your readers by being yourself- so make sure to always continue to do so!
2. Manage your communications
If you had a rule of visiting your Facebook page as a condition to participate in the giveaway, many participants will have liked your page. It is important to note that some of your new followers will have followed you strictly because of their interest in your giveaway. Once the giveaway has ended and they see your new publications on their newsfeed, they will remember that they liked your page, which can make it or break it! In order to retain your new following, make sure that you don’t publish too many posts just after the giveaway. Only post content that is relevant, appealing and true to your brand. Select your posts, and manage them. Remember to always choose quality over quantity!
3. Welcome them
Write a post or a sentence to welcome them to your blog or your social networks. It is important for them to feel like they are part of the community.
4. Come to terms with the fact that some people will unsubscribe
You have to accept the fact that some of your new followers will not stay. There are many Internet users who are only interest in participating in online giveaways. These types of participants will usually unsubscribe as soon as the giveaway is over. Keep it in mind that it is not personal and focus on creating original content for your loyal followers.
